Bit lifters may be utlised for different reasons. If a horse is inclined to get its tongue above the bit, the bit lifter can help prevent this by suspending the bit higher in the horse's mouth without the need to use a tight flash noseband (which may cause resistance).

For team or tandem leaders, who are required to work up into the bit contact, the bit lifter can lighten the contact, enabling light-mouthed horses to have more confidence to work into the contact.

To fit this model, simply thread the noseband through the centre loop and buckle the straps to the bit ring.
